With that being said, here are our top TV moments that either involve weed or feature the main characters as stoners.

How I Met Your Mother, Various Episodes
One of the best long-running gags from this beloved sitcom was the main characters’ love of “eating sandwiches” in college AKA the writers’ way of showing the characters getting high while still being able to broadcast on primetime TV.
Over the course of many seasons, Marshall, Ted, and Lily are portrayed stoned out of their minds while chowing down on some pretty delicious looking sandwiches similar to how you and your buds would share a joint together. The end result is pretty ridiculous, but hilarious as well.

Sex and the City, The Post-It Always Sticks Twice, Season 6
The best way to get over a breakup is getting so high that you forget all about your broken heart – this according to iconic Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw. After getting dumped by boyfriend Jack Burger on a post-it note, Bradshaw hits the town with the rest of the gang and decides to track down some weed, only to get caught lighting up by a cop. Fortunately, the cop cuts her a break when she flashes the infamous break-up post-it and the episode ends as she satisfies her munchies with an ice cream sundae.

Family Guy – 420, Season 7
Never the type to shy away from controversial topics, one of Family Guy’s most memorable episodes focuses heavily on the stigma of cannabis use and legalization.
This episode not only had a great message about the ridiculousness of criminalizing cannabis, but also brought tons of laughs and gave us the iconic tune “Everything is Better With a Bag of Weed.” We apologize in advance for getting it stuck in your head.

That 70s Show – Garage Sale, Season 2
That 70s Show featured weed pretty heavily – it was the 70s after all – but our favourite pick would have to be the season 2 episode where strait-laced parents Red and Kitty get into Hyde’s stash of weed brownies. Between Red’s rendition of “Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail” and Kitty’s uncontrollable infectious laughter, this episode is one of the series’ best.

Workaholics – Whose Weed Is That?, Season 3
One of the funniest stoner shows on TV, we couldn’t get through this list without giving the Comedy Central series, Workaholics, a mention. While the hilarious underachieving characters on this show got high a lot throughout the series, the best episode is season 3’s “Whose Weed is That?”
Throughout the episode, the trio is preparing for a pizza eating contest and can’t track down their regular dealer. Since it would be unfathomable to go into the contest without smoking a blunt first, the group finds a new dealer, only to have their regular dealer return and accuse them of infidelity in a heartbreaking scene.
What makes this episode even better is the fact that the cast actually got high together when filming for the show.
