Martha Stewart Eats 20 CBD Gummies A Day

The Lifestyle Legend Reveals Obsession With CBD

Martha Stewart may have built a brand on cookbooks and home décor, but don’t let that make you think she’s an ordinary homebody.

“I’m very interested in what is new and what is happening,” she told the New York Times in a recent interview. “Like, I have an electric car. I have a Tesla. I adopted the computer before most of my friends — in 1982, I bought my first IBM. I’m an early adopter of a lot of things. That keeps you very on your toes, it keeps you extremely avant-garde, it keeps you current. I want to be current.”

Does 79-year old Stewart’s desire to be current involve the quickly-blooming cannabis industry? Of course, it does: Stewart is obsessed with CBD gummies. Each consumer has a different reaction to the cannabinoid-infused treats, she explains, and her tolerance is quite significant:

I pop 20 [gummies] and just feel okay, but some of my friends do two and feel high, I don’t know why. It’s not high like a ‘marijuana high’. It’s a ‘CBD high’, like, relaxed.”

It’s True—A ‘CBD High’ Is Not Your Typical High

Stewart is onto something. CBD products, like gummies, provide a totally different experience from cannabis. When smoking cannabis, you take in a mix of cannabinoids, which are chemical compounds found in the plant. Most notably, you’ll take in THC and CBD. THC is the compound that changes your brain chemistry to make you high, while CBD is often found to have pain and stress-relieving effects.

CBD products will often cut most or all of the THC, so you can feel great without losing your most important cognitive functions.

CBD comes in many forms on the market, most notably found in oils, capsules, and gummies. In fact, Stewart herself has her own line of CBD products.

Hold Up—Martha Stewart Has Her Own Line Of CBD Products?

For real. After encouragement from her pal Snoop Dogg, Stewart realized there was room for her in the cannabis industry. She teamed up with hemp and CBD company Canopy Growth to develop a line of CBD-infused wellness products. The line includes gourmet gummies and oil drops. Notably, Stewart’s gummies come in different flavors, like blood orange, huckleberry, and kumquat.

“You don’t think that you’re eating anything but pâte de fruit,” she said in her interview with the Times, during which she ate four gummies. “I’m having a black raspberry right now.”

Twenty of Stewart’s CBD gummies would provide 200 to 500 mg of CBD, though the brand suggests starting with 1-3 gummies per day (or, 25 to 30 mg). In any case, we’re happy to see Stewart found a dose that works for her.
